Morris did have a marinized version of the SV Minor engine - I have bought SV head gaskets from chandlers in the past. Yes, the White Minor's original engine survives in the hands of a relative - who won't sell it to David for sentimental reasons. I believe there is a blower with it. All the special...

This is John Smith's old tourer - the VERY last OHC tourer to leave Cowley. It is also extremely original and has a comprehensive history. It would be a great bopportunity for someone. There are several VSCC members looking for tourers right now - with the eligibility review in porcess, it will be i...

Steve, Sounds good to me. I remember that the original L908 rear bearings are as rare as SV Minors at a VSCC trial! :D I have run with a solid bronze bush in the back before - a bit agricultural, but it works. When I bought my first SV Minor, off the road, reputedly a good runner, I found the L908 r...

Hi Steve, This sounds interesting - and presumably cheaper to reprofile an existing cam than make new ones. The SV cam is much beefier than the OHC cams so preumably more scope for reprrofiling. I'd be up for having mine done, but I won't have it in my hands until July. Any idea as to cost? Do you k...

Battery isolator switches
I have recently fitted a battery isolator switch on the Semi-sports because it is required for shipping and is also a very good idea. I bought a type which bolts between the battery earth post and the battery earth lead without modification. I had it fitted within five minutes of it arriving in the ...

Glenn, I think the short answer, as far as I know, is - no. I would be interested to know whether the SV cam also has the 'underlap' of the OHC cam which was famously improved by Kimber for the 12/12. As I have just bought a McEvoy Special Morris Minor for rebuild, I'd be interested in obtaining an ...

I have oil pressure! Andrew, you were spot on! This evening, I removed the oil pump and stripped it down. I could see that the seat for the relief valve piston was not pitted, but it was worn in a peculiar way - an annular ring at about 2/3 the radius of the bore. So I replaced the pump with my spar...

Ewan, I think the pump itself is fine - it is delivering 110 psi on startup and this only drops as the engine warms up. After fifteen minutes or so, when it is running hot, then pressure is all but gone. My suspicion is that the relief valve is not seating well. I have been advised that the valve pi...
